I don't hold grudges and I can forgive but, I am only human to NOT FORGET! When I was growing up, I had a tough childhood days especially when mom lost her job. She is a single mom to two toddlers. My father abandoned us when I was 9 months (in the womb of my mom) and my brother was 2 years old. Life was tough for mom had to sweat out and trying all odd jobs to support me and my brother. I saw how she work so hard and never did I see her cry , complain or lost the will to go on.
When I saw my brother reprimanded by our neighbor when he knocked down a weighing scale in the store, the sight was heart broken and I told to myself ... if only I have a father to protect him. Oh I have gazillion incident to share but, what difference does it make ? You probably heard it from other broken families. I forgave my father a long time ago. We all did.
Each year, when everyone is busy preparing for a Father's Day get-together for their family, I am speechless. I can't relate. All I can think of is my mom. The hard work, the resilience and the good mom she is. She may not read this but, she knew that my brother and I appreciate everything she did for us. We became who we are now because of her. I love you Mom. This day is for you.
Did you know that carnation flower is scientifically known as Dianthus caryophyllus which means "flower of love" or "flower of the gods". I was really wondering that for the last two years, the church choose Carnation to give to all women in the church for Mother's Day. This flower is revered for centuries and one of the world's oldest cultivated flowers. The carnation is appreciated for its ruffled appearance, clove-like scent, and extended blooming period. See its beauty up close. I got a carnation from the church. After the mass, women are given carnation.

My husband does not like giving flowers even if he knows that I could melt for having it LOL. On Mother's Day, he surprised me with this bouquet of mixed flowers.
My Mother's Day is spent with my husband at home. We decided not to go out for sure; all the restaurants are full. Hubby decided to cook a special meal for both of us. How about yours? I hope you had a wonderful day with your family.
How do you honor your mom on Mother's Day? I have my ways and I am sure you did too. There are so many ideas to show gratitude to our mothers. It could be inexpensive or lavish, it really doesn't matter. The thought and your effort count the most. You might be planning to serve her a breakfast in bed with a vase of
flower which is really sweet. If you can afford it, you can plan to give her a cruise certificate for two to Bahamas which I think is an awesome idea as well.
We do not need to spend so much money to show her how much we love her. However, if we can spoil our moms, why not right? Let us honor our moms in our own unique way. Our mother takes care of us and spent countless hours raising and loving us therefore, mothers deserve to have the acknowledgement.
Do you have plans on Mother's Day? It could be something out of the ordinary. How about a dinner date for the whole family? This is something which all of us can do right? After dinner, surprise her with gifts. Let the grand children hand her the gifts. That's simple but sweet to remember for sure. If you are busy and always forget an important date, order at
serenata flowers delivered today. It might surprise her that you sent her flowers ahead of time but, she will love it for sure. You still have the time to plan for Mother's Day so; mark your calendar and make this event a memorable event for her.
