Bad Weather on a Monday

On our third day in Disney World was totally fun! Why? Inside the park, we saw people all soaking wet of the rainstorm (remnants of #TSKaren) yet, they were still having fun, all smiles and had a great time. Oh yeah! We arrived in Disney parking lot when it's pouring rain so; when it slows down, we brought a folding umbrella with us. Some parents were very creative using the trash bags as rain coats. It was pretty neat.

We went in at 3PM and we drop by at Magic Kingdom, rode the boat, the monorail and twice the bus then, we went to Hollywood Studious. It was raining so bad but, thanks to our umbrella, we were all dry. As we drove home, the skies are still gloomy but, see the yellowish color? That's a pretty rainbow. Actually two rainbows are showing and it was my first time to see two rainbows forming in the sky. Amazing! As we drove the 528, it was raining so bad for few minutes. We arrived home safely and guess what? Our place is so dry.

Tropical Storm Isaac Heads to New Orleans

I have been to New Orleans and boy, this place has not fully recovered from the devastation brought by Hurricane Katrina and in few hours, Tropical Storm Isaac will directly hit this place. What a coincidence because exactly 7 years ago ( Aug 29, 2005), Hurricane Katrina hits hard New Orleans.

The threat of TS Isaac grows by the minute and I hope the people living in the coastal areas of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana take the warning seriously.

I saw the news just a minute ago showing HardRock Biloxi sign which says "We are open and Rooms Available". The Beach Boulevard area in Biloxi is not the safest place to check in especially when TS Isaac is heading that way.

The house of my late father-in-law was one of the houses which was completely destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. It was a scary situation but, thank God, there was no one in the house. They went to Mobil Alabama.

All our relatives in Mississippi are already bracing for the TS Isaac. My sis-in-law lived near the beach so; she told us that she will be going to her sister who lives inland.

Anyway, I hope the storm will weaken and that everyone will be safe.

Glitch in Weather Forecast

Hello everyone, how was the weather in your area? I bet you are enjoying summer time huh? Did you go to the beach? We had so many errands these days that even though 15 minutes away is already the beach area, seems harder to go.

Yesterday, we went to Orlando to buy washer and dryer for our tenant in one of our condos. The weather was nice so; I decided to wear shorts and sleeveless. Not a good idea because for whole day, it was raining so bad. It was not cold but, it was just awkward.

When we dine in at the Ruby Tuesday at the Florida Mall, I am not alone with my attire. I could tell that people were caught off guard with the sudden rain. It was like a stormy rain. Again, it was not cold surprisingly. We stayed in the restaurant for almost 2 hours waiting for the rain to slow down.

It was already 8 PM when we drove home. It was raining so bad that hubby can't see the road. We decided to detour avoiding the dark clouds ahead. The forecast said that for the last three days starting Wednesday, it will gonna be rainy days. It is past noontime now, the sun is shining so brightly. What?

One Month After "Sendong"

December 16, 2011 - Tropical Storm Washi or Bagyong Sendong , a name that we, people in Northern Mindanao will never forget. More than a thousand died of drowning and swept by the raging flood waters. More than a thousand are still missing and were mourned by family and friends. Thousands are displaced and so many dreams shattered after the few hours of flooding. (photo credit: Jed R. Luminarias) Lord, You invited all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing Hand to heal the hearts of those who are in pain and mourning. Touch their souls with Your compassion and touch their hearts with Your courage and infinite Love.(photo credit: Jed R. Luminarias)Touch their minds with Your Wisdom, and may their mouths always proclaim Your praise. Teach them to reach out to You in all their needs.(photo credits: donjunior) Most loving Heart of Jesus, give them the good health in body and spirit so they may serve You with all their strength. Touch gently their life which you have created, now and forever. ( photo credits: donjunior) We ask you dear God for your loving Mercy and kindness towards the people who suffer as a result of the flooding. Lord, for those who lost their lives, and those who mourn them, we ask for your loving mercy. For those who were wounded, we ask for healing and help. For those reaching out to the wounded, give them the supernatural graces, and the practical and economic resources they need in their efforts.Lord, for those who are searching for the dead, assist them in their effort so that all who lost their lives in this tragedy can be buried with dignity. Father, may this natural disaster and true human tragedy become an invitation for your people to enter into the mission of reaching out to all of the poor.AMEN.

The Flashflood in Cagayan de Oro City

I don't know but, looking at this picture I am reminded with what happened in Cagayan de Oro, my beloved city. This beautiful picture is located in Biloxi/Ocean Springs Mississippi which was badly hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The reported deaths caused by Katrina were 1,836 in 7 states. On December 16, 2011, the Tropical Storm Washi (Bagyong Sendong) struck Northern Mindanao, Philippines. The long hours of rain caused a flashflood and the reported deaths reached to more than a thousand and more than a thousand missing. It was devastating and so catastrophic especially for us, Kagayanons. This beautiful place claimed so many lives but, they managed to survive and I saw the ruins and I saw how high the water level was. The house of my father-in-law was damage totally. I believe in my heart that my city will rise up just like them. "I know of no great men except those who have rendered great service to the human race." by Voltaire Philosopher, Essayist (1694-1778) "If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." by Anne Bradstreet a Writer, Poet, First Woman To Be Published In Colonial America (1612-1672)The cry for HELP was heard all over the world. Though most of the flood victims had nothing left, they still have the positive outlook about the future. Most of us who lives halfway across the globe mourn with our friends who lost their love ones. It is so overwhelming especially when our friends cry in anguish for the missing family members. You know what's heartbreaking? It is when they lost not one but three to six members of the family because of the flashflood. It's been two weeks since and most of the victims are still in the evacuation areas. Half of them are homeless and some of them cannot go home because of the mud. There is no water and electricity since day one making it harder for most of the victims. Despite of the situation, hundreds of Volunteers are there to keep the evacuation area in order and systematic. Help arrived on time, thanks to all the nameless generous people who heed the cry of help from the victims.

God Bless Cagayan de Oro City

I cannot help myself right now but cry. It was Thursday, I saw the wall post of my friend saying "busy packing and cooking... it's children's Christmas party today. it's almost christmas break! rest, have fun and party party!" Friday came, storm hits hard in Cagayan de Oro City, the flash flood takes so many lives and her kids perished. How can we comfort someone who lost three children? To my friend, you know who you are, please be strong. Your children are in heaven now and they will be watching you. Tight hugs to you teacher friend. "Bagyong Sendong" or Storm Washi is the worst Tropical storm to hit my home city Cagayan de Oro. I grew up in a neighborhood along the river banks and the river is our playground. I was in elementary grades when flooding brings misery to our neighborhood but, nothing compared to what happened last Friday. It came like a thief in the night and brought so much anguish, deliberate distress and death. May God bless my city, Cagayan de Oro and may God bless us with wisdom and understanding so we may comprehend his purpose to all these trials.

Clear Sky at Cocoa Beach

We really love Cocoa Beach because the place is not crowded on weekdays. The sand is white and clean and the waves are good for surfing. The sky is clear and blue that is why, the water is really inviting.
We just came here to take pictures and no plans of swimming.Few people who lives nearby are walking on the shoreline with their dogs.I love taking pictures of the clouds, skies and the beach. I think those are the subject of my photos.
