The Simpsons

Written by my friend Rico Cunningham:

Twenty two seasons strong and no other animated show can touch The Simpsons. The lovable Simpson family, Homer, his wife Marge and their three children Bart, Maggie and Lisa are my favorite dysfunctional family of all time. I've been a fan of this show since I was a elementary school and it was just a short on The Tracey Ullman Show. Every once in awhile I get a chuckle as I remember Bart with black hair.

The setting of the show takes place in the town of Springfield in some unknown state in the US. One of the things about this show is the characters and how they typify Middle American families. Bart is the black sheep of the family, Lisa the nerdy sister and Marge is the overburdened housewife who tries to pretend that everything is perfect when nothing is. I find the pretense for Homer's character to be just lovely. Somehow the lazy, donut-eating dad with the buffoonish personality has the job of safety inspector at a nuclear power plant. I could probably go on and on about the side characters as well. That's what happens when you go twenty two seasons.

There was a point when I was afraid that they had jumped the shark by having baby Maggie shoot Homer's boss Mr. Burns, but the show has since corrected course. I look forward to watching the twenty third season on tvbydirect.com.

Repeat of my Valentine's Steak Dinner

Guest post written by Rachel Bryant.

My boyfriend did the nicest thing for me for Valentine's Day, he fixed me a steak dinner! Maybe that sounds a little weird, but I would much rather have that than chocolate, flowers or even jewelry. Him doing that just proved to me how well we actually do know each other. I loved it so much that I decided that I would do something special for my boyfriend for his birthday and try to recreate that steak dinner with his favorite side dishes.

But, I want it to be extra special and surprise him, so I'm not asking him for his recipes. I went online to find my own recipes and when I was doing that I came across the site satelliteinternetbroadband.com. ! After I read through it a little bit, I decided to sign up for one of the internet packages I found on there for my apartment.

I've found most of the recipes for the things that I'm going to fix for the dinner, which is next weekend. I guess it will just be a little tougher to surprise him when he sees a lit grill on my patio.
