Even Now by Barry Manilow

I love Barry Manilow's voice and most of his musical composition. When I was in High School, those were the moments where I had crushes and hearing his lovesongs would transport me in another dimension----> the fantasy land of dreamers (wink...). This song is sad, don't you think? Are you in pain? You'll get through it! You can cry rivers and would swear you'll never find another one but hey, in 10 years or so you will never remember that pain. Live your life to the fullest and don't give up on loving someone. Somewhere out there, someone is praying that someone like you would come and that will really happen :-)

Even Now
When there's someone else who cares
When there's someone home who's waiting just for me
Even now I think about you as I'm climbing up the stairs
And I wonder what to do so she won't see

That even now
When I know it wasn't right
And I found a better life than what we had
Even now I wake up crying in the middle of the night
And I can't believe it still could hurt so bad

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And how I wish you knew
Even now

Even now
When I never hear your name
And the world has changed so much since you been gone
Even now I still remember and the feeling's still the same
And the pain inside of me goes on and on
Even now

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And God I wish you knew
Some how
Even now

Need You Now by Lady Antebellum

I heard the song for so long, I like it and loved hearing it on the radio. Would you believe that I just learned lately that this song was sung by Lady Antebellum? Yep! I am so passive and out of this world huh? I thought that this is an original song by The Glee. I heard it from them for the first time! I am so totally alienated from reality. Anyway, I love the lyrics and I love the melody! Oh by the way, I love the trio too!

Lady Antebellum: Charles Kelley who is the lead and background vocals, Dave Haywood the background vocals too, plays guitar, piano and mandolin, then the lead background vocal is Hillary Scott. This group formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006.

During the 53rd Grammy Award, the song NEED YOU NOW won the Best Country Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Country Song.

Lady Gaga in Grammy's

When I heard the name "gaga", I remembered my mother hehehe, it's her nickname and our indearment from the word "Langga" meaning "Love". Aside from that, "gaga" in our dialect means "crazy or stupid" too. One word with two completely opposite meaning. For me, Lady Gaga is a singer that projects both of that meaning. She is one talented singer that goes beyond what is expected of her. A lot would despise her unexpected portrayal and there are countless who accepts her as who she is. She love's the attention she's getting from the crowd and I would say, she is truly brilliant wouldn't she?

Serenity Prayer

The view was taken while we drove on the bridge that connects Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. It was Jan 3, 2010 and my camera was given by my hubby during Christmas and forgot to set up the date. I am now sharing to you Life's ultimate beauty! Seeing the sunrise in the sky brings so much inspiration that life is worth living for. If you have loads on your shoulder, your fate will give you strength to carry it. God will always be there! God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can.
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time.
Enjoying one moment at a time.
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace.
Taking, as Jesus did.
This sinful world as it is.
Not as I would have it.
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your Will.
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life.
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

Christina Aguillera on The Star Spangled Banner

February 6, 2011 is Superbowl XLV, the biggest sports event in the US. I was excited for our Superbowl Party at home with my husband and a friend. When the game started, I was cheering for Steelers while sending wall posts to my twitter and Facebook. I was pleased with Christina Aguillera's performance though there are minor lapses but, the performance was very good.

In big events like this, there are so many critics and mostly, they will find flaws from beginning to end. Of course the performance was not great because Christina didn't deliver the correct line of the National Anthem...a NO! NO! But, the damage has been done and people should move on! We should learn from this mistake and hoping that it won't happen again.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

History: Francis Scott Key wrote the poem in 1814 titled Defense of Fort McHenry. It was later put to the tune of John Stafford Smith's song titled The Anacreontic Song then, modified and retitled The Star Spangled Banner. The Congress proclaimed The Star Spangled Banner as the U.S. National Anthem in 1931.
