God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood

I told hubby to listen to me while I sang the song God Bless the USA and I can't help but, get sentimental. This song is so powerful. America is home. Let us all remember the unsung heroes who defend this country for freedom. Happy President's Day everyone.

If tomorrow all my things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
With just my children and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars,
To be livin' here today.
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
And they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
Next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
To the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
And New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
And its time we stand and say.

That I'm proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
Next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I'm proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
Next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Reason Enough by Regine Velasquez

I was posting the blogpost about Oldies Music and and I made mention about the word "reason enough " and the song of Regine Velasquez just popped up in my mind. Oh my goodness, I miss this song. Funny that I can remember the song and forgotten why it was so special back then. Let me think hmmm....

I made myself a promise some time ago
Never again to give my heart away
Fell in love with someone who left me in the end
The price of love was just too high to pay
I thought my life had ended, but you came along
And showed me how much brighter things could be
Now you see I've turned my back
On that promise that I made
Knowing that your love has set me free

REFRAIN:

(`Cause) You are reason enough for me to go on living
You are reason enough for me to smile again
In a world where hearts are broken

Every now and then
One finds reason enough to love
Like I've found reason enough in you to love again
So here I am, all caught up in this new found love
Feeling like I've never felt before
Putting my love on the line with you
And taking a chance again
I'm not afraid to love anymore

(Repeat Refrain)

In a world where hearts are broken
Every now and then
One finds reason enough to love
Like I've found reason enough in you to love again

Nah! I remember so well >o<. I listen to this song over and over when "Babes" left me in exchange to pursue his Dentistry career in the US. We both made the right decision because I am happy with my married life now. I pray that he is successful and happy in his life too. In my case, time heals all wounds!

If you are heart broken, don't despair! It happens for a reason so; live your life. Heartaches will be gone in due time. If you think that your life has ended, look around you. Your family and friends love you dearly. Most of all, love yourself and that is reason enough to keep on living don't you think? Cheer up!

Fill the World with Love

When I was in high school, I was in a church choir. We had a beach get together party and we hired a boat to sail us to the river and off to the beach area. As we were sailing, we sang religious songs and one particular song that I can't forget is the song Fill the World with Love. It was memorable because I was staring at the gorgeous sunset. It was serene and just beautiful. Happy Listening! I saw this children's choir in you tube, you might check on them too. In the morning of my life I shall look to the sunrise.
At a moment in my life when the world is new.
And the blessing I shall ask is that God will grant me,
To be brave and strong and true,
And to fill the world with love my whole life through.

(Chorus)
And to fill the world with love
And to fill the world with love
And to fill the world with love my whole life through

In the noontime of my life I shall look to the sunshine,
At a moment in my life when the sky is blue.
And the blessing I shall ask shall remain unchanging.
To be brave and strong and true,
And to fill the world with love my whole life through

(Chorus)

In the evening of my life I shall look to the sunset,
At a moment in my life when the night is due.
And the question I shall ask only I can answer.
Was I brave and strong and true?
Did I fill the world with love my whole life through?

(Chorus)

Caylee: She's Going Places

This is a tribute for Caylee Anthony written by Cledus T Judd featuring Gary Levox from RASCAL FLATTS. What a tearjerking music indeed! Let's accept the truth that the case is closed! Let us not stressed ourselves in finding Justice for this little girl. No matter what we do, the Jurors voted NOT GUILTY and it's close! Vote for Caylee's Law instead so that, there will never be another Caylee who will suffer a terrible death!

She was just a baby, barely 2 years old
A story that shouldn’t have to be told
See that little girl with big brown eyes
Stole our hearts and touched our lives
Now we cry, ’cause we can’t understand

You see she wanted to learn to play guitar,
Be a ballerina or movie star
She could’ve gone so far

She can be anything that she wants to
She can ride her bike every afternoon
She can laugh and play
With her dolls and games
Just like all little girls should get to do
Too young for her life to be taken
She’s going places

I bet she’d spend her time skipping rope
Drawing rainbows on streets that are paved with gold
Get to ride a big wheel jumping curves
In a parking lot of a great big church
And I wish I could see it all

But her memory will live on right here
Till i get over there
And see her again

She can be anything that she wants to
She can ride her bike every afternoon
She can laugh and play in those backyard games
Just like all little girls should get to do
Too young for her life to be taken
Shes going places

She can play kickball
Go swim and see-saw
Just like all little girls should get to do

We will sing sweet Caylee’s praises
She’s safe in the arms of God’s good graces
She’s going places

America the Beautiful

written by: Katharine Lee Bates

Happy Fourth of July! I would like to share this song to all of us who enjoyed the Gift of FREEDOM and LIBERTY which this country has given us!

( This is a poem by Katharine Lee Bates, first appeared in print in The Congregationalist, a weekly journal, on July 4, 1895. She revised the lyrics in 1904 and again in 1913- source:kids.niehs.nih.gov)

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassion'd stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness.

America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law.

O beautiful for heroes prov'd
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life.

America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears.

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.

Don't Let the Sun Go Down On me

I was listening to music today and here it is, Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me played on the radio. Constantly, I heard this song from Elton John whether I used my XM radio or watching TV shows. This is really a popular song because I heard it in the Amerian Idol and the Voice. In fact, David Archuleta has a nice version of it too. Take a moment to listen and familiarized yourself with the lyrics. Hoping you like it and happy listening.

I can't light no more of your darkness
All my pictures seem to fade to black and white
I'm growing tired and time stands still before me
Frozen here on the ladder of my life

It's much to late to save myself from falling
I took a chance and changed your way of fife
But you misread my meaning when i met you
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light

Don't let the sun go down on me
Although i search myself, it's always someone else i see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

I can't find oh, the right romantic line
But see me once and see the way i feel
Don't discard me just because you think i mean you harm
But these cuts i have, oh they need love to help them heal

Don't let the sun go down on me
Although i search myself, it's always someone else i see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

Don't let the sun go down on me
Although i search myself, it's always someone else i see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

Time For Miracles:2012 Soundtract

I was watching the marathon movie regarding the Mayan Prophecy from all sources and it gives me chills. The world will definitely end but, we will never know when it will happen. Predictions served us an awakening that we should co-exist, we should love one another and live according to what balances the nature! If the world ends, humanity will vanish! Watch the movie 2012, it's pretty interesting! By the way, this is the theme song of that movie!

by: Johannes, Alain; Shneider, Natasha;

It's late at night, and I can't sleep
Missing you just runs too deep
Oh I can't breathe, thinking of your smile

Every kiss I can't forget
This aching heart ain't broken yet
Oh God, I wish I could make you see

'Cause I know this flame isn't dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

Baby you know that maybe it's time for miracles
'Cause I ain't giving up on love
You know that maybe it's time for miracles
'Cause I ain't giving up on love
No, I ain't giving up on us

I just want to be with you
'Cause living is so hard to do
When all I know is trapped inside your eyes

The future I cannot forget
This aching heart ain't broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see

'Cause I know this flame isn't dying
So nothing can stop me from trying

Baby you know that maybe it's time for miracles
'Cause I ain't giving up on love
You know that maybe it's time for miracles
'Cause I ain't giving up on love

Baby can you feel it coming?
You know I can hear it, hear every soul
Baby, when you feel me feeling you
You know it's time

Baby you know that maybe it's time for miracles
'Cause I ain't giving up on love
You know that maybe it's time for miracles
'Cause I ain't giving up on love

No, I ain't giving up
No, I ain't giving up on us

American Idol 2011: Final Three

This is the 10th Season of American Idol and Lauren Alaina is one of the TOP 3. Lauren is a sophomore student at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. She is a Cheerleader and will turn 17 on Nov.8. When she auditioned, she sang "Like We Never Loved at All" by Faith Hill. It was noted only one time that she was in the bottom three.Did you know that he is a Puerto Rican descent? His father was born in Puerto Rico with a Puerto Rican mom and an American Father. At 10, he learns to play the guitar and impersonate Elvis Presley. On his audition, he sang "Your Man" by Josh Turner and "Put Some Drive in Your Country" by Travis Tritt. My personal favorite which he sang was: "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder.
Haley was born on September 9 and started singing at 8 years old. Her parents are both musicians and she has performed at the 2009 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland with her high school's jazz band and at Harper College with the college's Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Lab. Music fills her life so, there is no wonder why she lasted this long. She is so talented and she has the charm that's why the viewing voters supported her dearly.
This week they will come back to their hometown to personally thank their supporters. The question is: Who among them will be the American Idol 2011 ultimate winner? I don't have personal favorite this season. But, I will keep watching and will let you my wild guess this week:-)

Angel by Sarah MacLachlan

Whenever hubby heard this song in XM Radio, he would turn the volume up. He just loves the song and I don't see why. This is a sad song but full of hope and compassion to someone. This song was inspired by Jonathan Melvoin's death, a keyboardist of Smashing Pumpkin group who died of drug overdose. The melody would drive you to the world of serenity and bring you in a placid mood. If you happen to see the movie City of Angels starring Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage, this song made it to the number 1 in the billboard chart. That movie is one of my favorites. I cried rivers at the end of the movie. Sigh!

Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always some reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh a beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
oh and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight life
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lies
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe
in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

Gwyneth Paltrow On Glee

I forgot to save the latest episode of Glee which is SEXY. Gwyneth Paltrow is Holly, came back as a Sex Ed substitude. OH yeah :-) She's teaching the students about sex education through music. Relax, listen and I hope you like her version.

This song was written by Stevie Nicks in 1975.

I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Till Landslide brought me down

Oh mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Mmm mmm I don’t know
Mmm mmm
Mmm mmm

Well I’ve been afraid of changing ‘cause I
Built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older, I’m getting older too

Soo (Interlude)

I’ve been afraid of changing ‘cause I
I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder, children get older
I’m getting older too
I’m getting older too
Soo take this love, take it down
Ohh if you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills,
Well maybe, the landslide will bring it down
Well well the landslide with bring it down

Gwyneth Palthrow : Just My Imagination

Have you seen the movie Duets? This film was released in 2000 starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis among others and directed by Bruce Paltrow. This movie is all about the characters whose lives evolved in Karaoke Competitions. If you haven't watch this movie yet, check it out in Netflix :-)
This song is a duet sung by Gwyneth Paltrow and Babyface. What an awesome duo, right? Don't forget to watch out Gwyneth Paltrow on the latest episode of Glee tonight!

Gwyneth Paltrow:
Each day through my window
I watch him as he passes by
I say to myself
I'm so lucky he's so fly
To have a boy like him
Is truly a dream come true
Out of all the girlies in the world
He belongs to you

[Chorus]

But it was just my imagination
Runnin away with me
Tell you it was just my imagination
Running away with me

Babyface:

Soon we'll be married
And raise a family (oh yea...)
Have a cozy little crib in the country
With two children maybe three
I tell you I...
Can raise your lies down baby
It couldn't be a dream
Cause too real it all seems
Oooohhhh...

[Chorus]

But it was just my imagination (once again yea)
Runnin away with me (running away with me)
Tell you it was just my imagination
Running away with me (away with me yea)

Gwyneth Paltrow and Babyface:

Everynight on my knees I pray
Dear lord hear my plea yea
Don't ever let another
Take his love from me
Or I will surely die
Heavenly (heavenly) when your arms unfold me
I hear the tender upsity
But in reality
He doesn't even know me

[Chorus]

But it was just my imagination (ohh, so fly look out my window)
Runnin away with me (It's running away with me baby)
Just my imagination (runnin away)
Running away with me (my baby, my sugar, my sweetie, look at my baby)

Just my imagination (ohh, soo fly look out my window)
Runnin away with me (It's runnin away with me)
Just my imagination (yeeaaaa)
Running away with me (my baby, my sugar, my sweetie, look at my baby)

Just my imagination (ohh, soo fly look out my window)
Runnin away with me (It's runnin away with me)
Just my imagination (yeeaaaa)

Even Now by Barry Manilow

I love Barry Manilow's voice and most of his musical composition. When I was in High School, those were the moments where I had crushes and hearing his lovesongs would transport me in another dimension----> the fantasy land of dreamers (wink...). This song is sad, don't you think? Are you in pain? You'll get through it! You can cry rivers and would swear you'll never find another one but hey, in 10 years or so you will never remember that pain. Live your life to the fullest and don't give up on loving someone. Somewhere out there, someone is praying that someone like you would come and that will really happen :-)

Even Now
When there's someone else who cares
When there's someone home who's waiting just for me
Even now I think about you as I'm climbing up the stairs
And I wonder what to do so she won't see

That even now
When I know it wasn't right
And I found a better life than what we had
Even now I wake up crying in the middle of the night
And I can't believe it still could hurt so bad

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And how I wish you knew
Even now

Even now
When I never hear your name
And the world has changed so much since you been gone
Even now I still remember and the feeling's still the same
And the pain inside of me goes on and on
Even now

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are
I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through
I swear I think of you
And God I wish you knew
Some how
Even now

Need You Now by Lady Antebellum

I heard the song for so long, I like it and loved hearing it on the radio. Would you believe that I just learned lately that this song was sung by Lady Antebellum? Yep! I am so passive and out of this world huh? I thought that this is an original song by The Glee. I heard it from them for the first time! I am so totally alienated from reality. Anyway, I love the lyrics and I love the melody! Oh by the way, I love the trio too!

Lady Antebellum: Charles Kelley who is the lead and background vocals, Dave Haywood the background vocals too, plays guitar, piano and mandolin, then the lead background vocal is Hillary Scott. This group formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006.

During the 53rd Grammy Award, the song NEED YOU NOW won the Best Country Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Country Song.

Christina Aguillera on The Star Spangled Banner

February 6, 2011 is Superbowl XLV, the biggest sports event in the US. I was excited for our Superbowl Party at home with my husband and a friend. When the game started, I was cheering for Steelers while sending wall posts to my twitter and Facebook. I was pleased with Christina Aguillera's performance though there are minor lapses but, the performance was very good.

In big events like this, there are so many critics and mostly, they will find flaws from beginning to end. Of course the performance was not great because Christina didn't deliver the correct line of the National Anthem...a NO! NO! But, the damage has been done and people should move on! We should learn from this mistake and hoping that it won't happen again.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

History: Francis Scott Key wrote the poem in 1814 titled Defense of Fort McHenry. It was later put to the tune of John Stafford Smith's song titled The Anacreontic Song then, modified and retitled The Star Spangled Banner. The Congress proclaimed The Star Spangled Banner as the U.S. National Anthem in 1931.

Broken Vow by Lara Fabian

"It talks about betrayal but it talks about FORGIVENESS"-Lara Fabian.
Parting Moment-I can't remember the pain now! But, I do remember that I cried rivers when I heard this song for the first time. I can relate! I fell in-love and he was gone! I thought it was just one of the common break-ups that we had. I really don't know the reason why we part ways but, all I knew as of the present that we were not meant to be. He called me on the phone one Saturday night telling me, he was in the airport on his way to follow his dad in the States. Then, my phone stops ringing from his number. It took me a week to have the guts to call him back. It was his friend who answered the phone telling me he left to the US.

Tell me her name
I want to know
The way he looks
And where you go
I need to see his face
I need to understand
Why you and I came to an end

Tell me again
I want to hear
Who broke my faith in all these years
Who lays with you at night
When I'm here all alone
Remembering when I was your own

[Chorus:]
I let you go
I let you fly
Why do I keep on asking why
I let you go
Now that I found
A way to keep somehow
More than a broken vow

Tell me the words I never said
Show me the tears you never shed
Give me the touch
That one you promised to be mine
Or has it vanished for all time

[Chorus]

I close my eyes
And dream of you and I
And then I realize
There's more to love than only bitterness and lies
I close my eyes

I'd give away my soul
To hold you once again
And never let this promise end

[Modified Chorus:]
I let you go
I let you fly
Now that I know I’m asking why
I let you go
Now that I found
A way to keep somehow
More than a broken vow
