The Need to Look Up to See the Rainbow

Yesterday, I took the time for myself and re-arranging the furniture's in the living room, trying the feng shui set up to invite good vibes. I need to relax my mind and contemplate for something that is inspiring. It seemed that I was too busy for so long and doing that, I lost touch with my needs. Why do I work so hard? Or, is this the path that I wanted for my life? Something is missing! I don't want life would pass me by. "Come What May" has been my motto for the last years but, something is missing of what I am now. Hubby and I took a short ride around Cocoa, Titusville and Merritt Island yesterday. It rained few minutes and look what we saw, a beautiful rainbow.

I woke up at dawn time and I can't go back to sleep. I turned on the TV and saw a movie titled: CHAPLIN, a 1992 movie starring Robert Downey Jr. Charlie Chaplin is such an inspiration, my all-time favorite actor.

When I was in college, I bought a cassette tape (yap, not CD and it was on sale) titled: Little Tramp. It was an inspiring musical album about the life of Charlie Chaplin. Listening to that album inspire me to dream big and make it happen. Honestly, this is the low point of my life realizing that for 5 years, I quit dreaming.

The movie Chaplin is a wake-up call that while I still have the TIME to do something in my life, I should DO IT NOW and MAKE IT HAPPEN. Maybe, I was indeed looking down for those years. I only have to LOOK UP to see the RAINBOW and follow my dreams. If you have the same feeling, I think you should DO THAT TOO. Have a great weekend everyone!

The Language of Flowers

I saw this poem in one of the magazines that I subscribed and do not know the author. It's nice to share it to all of you. We all love flowers don't we?THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS

In Eastern lands they talk in flow'rs
And they tell in a garland their loves and cares;
Each blossom that blooms in their garden bowr's,
On its leaves a mystic language bears.

The rose is a sign of joy and love,
Young blushing love in its earliest dawn,
And the mildness that suits the gentle dove,
From the myrtle's snowy flow'rs is drawn.

Innocence gleams in the lily's bell,
Pure as the heart in its native heaven.
Fame's bright star and glory's swell
By the glossy leaf of the bay are given.

The silent, soft and humble heart,
In the violet's hidden sweetness breathes,
And the tender soul that cannot part,
In a twine of evergreen fondly wreathes.

The cypress that daily shades the grave,
Is sorrow that moans her bitter lot,
And faith that a thousand ills can brave,
Speaks in thy blue leaves "forget-me-not".

Then gather a wreath from the garden bowers,
And tell the wish of thy heart in flowers.

Glee

I was watching the Glee on my Netflix account and I was doing my own marathon from the pilot episode to the 22nd episode. It brings back memories of singing, fun, giggles, camaraderie, intrigues, love and of course, friendship. That's the best part, the friendship we created for years. There was a little drama but, when we are singing, it pulled back good times and unity. Before the scheduled practice we came in early at the Little Theatre just to hang out.I worked in the university library and after the library closes in the evening, I went straight to the little theatre for a practice. All of us were excited most of the time especially when our Professor (the late) Lino Y. Abrio treat us all for dinner. We love that! We are like his children and he volunteered to share his time and talent for FREE. That's what I knew of! When we went for a concert in Davao City, most of it comes out from his own pocket without expecting any in return. Just like the Glee mentor in this TV series, he gave out a $1K check so that the Glee will have a picture in the yearbook. There was similarity that is why, I can relate with this TV show. I miss the XU Glee Club, Fr. Cuna and most of all Prof. Lino Y. Abrio.

Relaxing Time

While we live in Mississippi, relaxing time is when we go to the beach or visit the hotel/casino in the area. We sometimes just sit in one of the benches there with our over the counter take-out lunch, life is easier. Here in Orlando, we did the same thing. When we want a quite time, we drive down Cocoa Beach and just hang out there enjoying the cool breeze. I love taking pictures so, I enjoyed this type of activity. What's yours?

Mailman is a Hero

In Florida, a mailman is a well respected and play an important part of the community where he's assigned. Happened this week, the mailman did his routine taking out mails and delivering new mails in each of the mailbox in a neighborhood. He noticed that a mailbox of an elderly woman who lives alone is full and it's not picked out for three days. He had a feeling that there's something wrong because working as a mailman in this neighborhood for so many years, he knows most of the people. This old lady would come out from the house the moment he walks away from the mailbox or hand him mails to send. What he did was knock on the door and he heard a moan so, he called 911. It was a lucky day for this elderly woman. She was found in the kitchen, hurt and lay there for two days. She was taken to the hospital and she is alright now. This is just one of the stories that gives us inspiration. Miracle of human survival in the odds of a situation. The man is a hero for saving the life of an elderly woman, right?

Princess and the Frog

I love this animated movie where the main character is Tiana. She loves to cook in fact she was cooking the best gumbo when she was a child and her dad is a big fan. The story happened in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1924 where the story centered on Tiana. She works two jobs in order to save money and eventually open her own restaurant.

Charlotte La Bouff, a childhood friend of Tiana, hires her to provide refreshments for the Mardi Gras masquerade ball being thrown by her rich daddy, Eli La Bouff. Eli, is the perennial King of the Mardi Gras, seeks to welcome Prince Naveen of Maldonia, who has recently arrived, as an eligible. Tiana is thrilled to finally have enough to purchase and renovate an old sugar mill into her restaurant. I have been to New Orleans and witnessed the Mardi Gras, it was fun and full of excitement. Anyway, what happened to this story is exciting that you should watch it yourselves. The story indeed when Tiana and Naveen reveal their love to each other and explain the situation to Charlotte, who agrees to kiss Naveen. Unfortunately, the clock strikes midnight before she can kiss him, but the two decide they are content to live together as frogs. After a funeral is held for Ray, Tiana and Naveen are wed by Mama Odie. Because of Tiana's new status as princess, they are restored back to human form after their kiss. The couple return to New Orleans to celebrate and, with Louis's help, finally buy and open the new restaurant. Love love love this movie.

Are You An Atheist?

It is hard to become a fisher of man! Right now, I have these goals in life: To Know and Praise God, To do good Deeds and Respect others! I do believe in God! So, when I encountered people who doesn't, I don't pushed my own views! This week, I met someone who says, "I have problems with Catholics, because they pray images and statues". Here we go again but, I don't want to debate about Religion 101. If you are an Atheist, my response is this story: A man went to a barbershop to have
his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work,
they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things
and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on
the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?"
asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in
the street to realize that God
doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists,
would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine loving a God who
would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment,
but didn't respond because he didn't
want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer
left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop,
he saw a man in the street with long,
stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard. He looked dirty and unkept.
The customer turned back and entered
the barber shop again and he said
to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?"
asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber.
And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed.
"Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no
people with dirty long hair
and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist!
What happens is, people
do not come to me."

"Exactly!"-
affirmed the customer.
"That's the point!
God, too, DOES exist!
What happen is, people
don't go to Him
and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain
and suffering in the world."

A PRAYER FOR WORLD PEACE

(Prayer for World Peace, 1978)

Lord, we pray for the power to be gentle;
The strength to be forgiving;
The patience to be understanding;
And the endurance to accept the consequences of holding to what we believe to be right.May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil and the power of love to overcome hatred.

We pray for the vision to see
And the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence,
A new world where fear shall no longer lead men to commit injustice,
Nor selfishness make them bring suffering to others.

Help us to devote our whole life and thought and energy to the task of making peace, praying always for the inspiration and the power to fulfill the destiny for which we and all men were created.

Beautiful Sunrise

Trials make us vulnerable! We are but only humans, right? We have no super-power to switch on and shut down our feelings and senses! Problems can swallow us whole especially if we have no one to talk to and share our burden with. WAKE UP! If we let "the problems" rule over us, it will definitely knock us down and everything will turn-upside-down, what do you expect?

"Ang Pagsubang sa Adlaw"- Kini ang nagapahinumdum kanato nga ang kinabuhi adunay paglaum nga maayo luyo sa atong problema nga maoy nagpahuyang sa atoang pagtoo kaniya nga gamhanan sa tanan.

LIFE is what we make it! Sunrise reminds us that as long as we breathe life, there is HOPE! Don't let the problems knock you down, okay? If you feel like everyone turns their back on you, there is GOD who is an ULTIMATE one that you need in your LIFE!

Angel by Sarah MacLachlan

Whenever hubby heard this song in XM Radio, he would turn the volume up. He just loves the song and I don't see why. This is a sad song but full of hope and compassion to someone. This song was inspired by Jonathan Melvoin's death, a keyboardist of Smashing Pumpkin group who died of drug overdose. The melody would drive you to the world of serenity and bring you in a placid mood. If you happen to see the movie City of Angels starring Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage, this song made it to the number 1 in the billboard chart. That movie is one of my favorites. I cried rivers at the end of the movie. Sigh!

Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always some reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh a beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
oh and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight life
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lies
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe
in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

Gwyneth Palthrow : Just My Imagination

Have you seen the movie Duets? This film was released in 2000 starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis among others and directed by Bruce Paltrow. This movie is all about the characters whose lives evolved in Karaoke Competitions. If you haven't watch this movie yet, check it out in Netflix :-)
This song is a duet sung by Gwyneth Paltrow and Babyface. What an awesome duo, right? Don't forget to watch out Gwyneth Paltrow on the latest episode of Glee tonight!

Gwyneth Paltrow:
Each day through my window
I watch him as he passes by
I say to myself
I'm so lucky he's so fly
To have a boy like him
Is truly a dream come true
Out of all the girlies in the world
He belongs to you

[Chorus]

But it was just my imagination
Runnin away with me
Tell you it was just my imagination
Running away with me

Babyface:

Soon we'll be married
And raise a family (oh yea...)
Have a cozy little crib in the country
With two children maybe three
I tell you I...
Can raise your lies down baby
It couldn't be a dream
Cause too real it all seems
Oooohhhh...

[Chorus]

But it was just my imagination (once again yea)
Runnin away with me (running away with me)
Tell you it was just my imagination
Running away with me (away with me yea)

Gwyneth Paltrow and Babyface:

Everynight on my knees I pray
Dear lord hear my plea yea
Don't ever let another
Take his love from me
Or I will surely die
Heavenly (heavenly) when your arms unfold me
I hear the tender upsity
But in reality
He doesn't even know me

[Chorus]

But it was just my imagination (ohh, so fly look out my window)
Runnin away with me (It's running away with me baby)
Just my imagination (runnin away)
Running away with me (my baby, my sugar, my sweetie, look at my baby)

Just my imagination (ohh, soo fly look out my window)
Runnin away with me (It's runnin away with me)
Just my imagination (yeeaaaa)
Running away with me (my baby, my sugar, my sweetie, look at my baby)

Just my imagination (ohh, soo fly look out my window)
Runnin away with me (It's runnin away with me)
Just my imagination (yeeaaaa)

Isn't he Cute?

If boredom takes a hold on you right at this moment :-) care to listen and watch this video. A child's rendition of Jason Marz song of which he might not know how to sing it but, he can truly interpret it hehehe. Isn't he cute? Look at the chords he is making, it is absolutely the right one and the plucking is good considering his age:-) I can't help but admire his skills. If he will continue with this passion and guitar playing skill as well, he will improve for the better.
I am sharing this video from tonimadeira channel from youtube just to lighten your day. Keep smilin because life is beautiful!

Talking To God

My mother is the ultimate inspiration of my life. She taught me everything and she introduce God to my life even before I can see the world. When my mother was pregnant, she would hear mass every day with my 2 year old brother tagging along. Up to today, my mother never ceased to adore God and she always has a prayerful heart. I believed that for what I have become, it is because my mother brought us closer to God every waking moment of our lives.
Talking to God is not only those moments when I needed him. I talk to God when I am happy and there's no one to share it with. I talk to God not only when I am down but also when I am in my easy day. We need to talk to God every day.

Broken Vow by Lara Fabian

"It talks about betrayal but it talks about FORGIVENESS"-Lara Fabian.
Parting Moment-I can't remember the pain now! But, I do remember that I cried rivers when I heard this song for the first time. I can relate! I fell in-love and he was gone! I thought it was just one of the common break-ups that we had. I really don't know the reason why we part ways but, all I knew as of the present that we were not meant to be. He called me on the phone one Saturday night telling me, he was in the airport on his way to follow his dad in the States. Then, my phone stops ringing from his number. It took me a week to have the guts to call him back. It was his friend who answered the phone telling me he left to the US.

Tell me her name
I want to know
The way he looks
And where you go
I need to see his face
I need to understand
Why you and I came to an end

Tell me again
I want to hear
Who broke my faith in all these years
Who lays with you at night
When I'm here all alone
Remembering when I was your own

[Chorus:]
I let you go
I let you fly
Why do I keep on asking why
I let you go
Now that I found
A way to keep somehow
More than a broken vow

Tell me the words I never said
Show me the tears you never shed
Give me the touch
That one you promised to be mine
Or has it vanished for all time

[Chorus]

I close my eyes
And dream of you and I
And then I realize
There's more to love than only bitterness and lies
I close my eyes

I'd give away my soul
To hold you once again
And never let this promise end

[Modified Chorus:]
I let you go
I let you fly
Now that I know I’m asking why
I let you go
Now that I found
A way to keep somehow
More than a broken vow
