I don't hold grudges and I can forgive but, I am only human to NOT FORGET! When I was growing up, I had a tough childhood days especially when mom lost her job. She is a single mom to two toddlers. My father abandoned us when I was 9 months (in the womb of my mom) and my brother was 2 years old. Life was tough for mom had to sweat out and trying all odd jobs to support me and my brother. I saw how she work so hard and never did I see her cry , complain or lost the will to go on.
When I saw my brother reprimanded by our neighbor when he knocked down a weighing scale in the store, the sight was heart broken and I told to myself ... if only I have a father to protect him. Oh I have gazillion incident to share but, what difference does it make ? You probably heard it from other broken families. I forgave my father a long time ago. We all did.
Each year, when everyone is busy preparing for a Father's Day get-together for their family, I am speechless. I can't relate. All I can think of is my mom. The hard work, the resilience and the good mom she is. She may not read this but, she knew that my brother and I appreciate everything she did for us. We became who we are now because of her. I love you Mom. This day is for you.
