Bicycling: Summer Activity for the Family

How do you spend your summer time with your family? Do you plan for a vacation? What about a camping trip or a visit to the museum perhaps? If you are staying home for the summer time, plan for a fun activity that every member of the family will participate. To keep you pre-occupied and productive, bicycling is an enjoyable activity to keep in mind.

Shop for a Bike
The Central District Cyclery is the first stop that you have to make if you live in Michigan. This is a bike store located in downtown Grand Rapids. Bring your family and walk down in the showroom for bikes and since this place is a one-stop-shop, you can also find clothing and shoes to complete your cycling get-up.

Rent the Bike
If you dreaded the possibility of spending future bike maintenance and bike repairs, you can opt out to renting instead. The store offers affordable bicycles for rent which you can use for an hour or for the whole day. It all depends upon your budget but, this I tell you, it is truly affordable.

Start Exploring
All you have to do now is take a map and plan your route for a fun ride with your family. You can explore the city or go someplace since bike rentals can be done beyond daily basis. Visit Central District Cyclery  for they also offers weekly rental. For a start, the bicycles above are Linus brand which Grand Rapids will be happy to show you in their showroom. There are so many brands to choose from so; bring your family and start shopping today.

I See the Light in Tangled

I was checking the Facebook Wall Posts of my friends and saw this video posted by Mommy Dharlz. I watched it and somehow it feels good to listen and see the animated video/story of  Tangled. Somehow, I can relate with the lyrics. When I was growing up, I remember those nights when I was sitting at the back wooden stairway of our house. I love staring at the skies with so many stars and make a wish. Our house stood along the edge of the river banks of Cagayan de Oro City, PI. For me, it  was the best place to see so many stars. I was just star-gazing and dreaming that someday, I will buy a house with a roof top so I can appreciate the beauty of the bright stars even more. I am grinning right now because that childlike wish became a reality. That is just a superficial wish and there's depth into that. Enjoy your Tuesday everyone. Take time to listen and keep dreaming.

All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be

And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you

All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go

And at last I see the light

And it's like the fog has lifted

And at last I see the light

And it's like the sky is new

And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything is different
Now that I see you
Now that I see you

The Mail Box and Beyond

A family moved in to a vacant house across the street. The husband and I are happy to know that finally the house is rented. It's been vacant for more than a year because the prior renter was an animal hoarder and he made the house like a trash. When he was kicked out from the house, it took months to gut the whole place. It was renovated and now, it looks like a new house. The yard is not a pleasant sight but, soon it will be and we are hopeful. Their address house signs are still crooked but, for sure they will fix that too.

After two weeks since they moved, their front yard looks amazing because they planted new bushes and flowering plants. We thought they will fix the address plaques which were already there for so many years but, they don't. They bought a new mailbox just like the mailbox in Mailbox and Beyond. It was nice because they planted some annuals around it and add a football banner. We thought they are avid fans of a football team. As of today, the property looks very nice and it belongs to the neighborhood again which is pleasant to look at.

Paranormal TV Show: The Haunting Of

Do you like paranormal TV show? I am scared but, I like to watch anything that is paranormal. The Haunting Of is a documentary TV series on The Biography Channel that I watched for quiet sometime now. This TV show is hosted by Kim Russo, a psychic medium and each episodes/series tells the stories of different celebrities who agreed to tell their paranormal experiences. It is very interesting because it is a "spinoff of Celebrity Ghost Stories" .... for real. If you are a skeptic, it doesn't hurt to watch it don't you think?
It is a fascinating show and I like the host. You should check it out!

Gourmet-quality Coffee

Coffee aficionados take each cup of coffee personally and they don’t take it well when they get a mediocre or outright bad cup of coffee – it’s an affront to their senses and if they paid for it at a coffee shop it’s also a slam to the wallet. Why risk bad coffee when you are virtually guaranteed a great cup of coffee each and every time when you invest in an on demand coffee maker that accepts Nespresso® or similar coffee capsules – it’s the modern way to make gourmet-quality coffee with the touch of a button.

On demand brewing systems have been around for a while in professional settings such as hotels, hair salons and automobile dealerships – any place that puts a priority on hospitality, in part because they are so fast and easy to use and the results are simply outstanding. The art of crafting a good cup of coffee involves a lot of science – the ratio of water to coffee is a key factor plus it is essential to use fresh coffee at the proper grind. Even the water is critical – it must be cold and it should be good quality tap, filtered or bottled water. On demand brewing systems take care of almost all of these issues which is why the coffee is so reliably good.

With a good quality brewing system such as the Keurig® brand single cup coffee maker you have access to hundreds of gourmet quality regular and decaffeinated coffee flavors, roasts and blends. Making coffee is easy – simply select a coffee pod and place it in the machine, put your cup under the brewing port and press a button. In one minute or less you have a great cup of coffee that is ready to drink and enjoy.

Verdict Watch on State vs Zimmerman

On and off, I was watching the State vs Zimmerman trial. It was aired live on our local channels here in Florida. If you asked me, I truly don't know what to expect. After the Casey Anthony case before, it is truly hard to predict whether the verdict of Zimmerman will be guilty or not guilty at all. The decision lies on the hands of the 6 jurors.

All I pray is that people will calm down and respect the verdict. I hope that Peace will rule in the Sunny State! God bless everyone!

Sharpnose Shark

They are small sharks but, it doesn't mean that they are babies. I don't feel bad now when I over-heard the man said, this type of shark specie is a fully grown shark. This is a boy who caught this shark. His family was taking his picture. I thought the shark is alive because the tail wiggles LOL. It was him did something to it and it looks like the shark wiggles its tail.

I will just have my guess as to the type of shark this is. It looks like Sharp nose Shark or Rhizoprionodon terraenovae, one of the most common shark species here in Florida.  This is an inshore species which they said, common in bays and estuaries. They grow about 2 to 4 feet long. They have long and flattened snout, slender body, a brown to olive-gray body color with a white underside. There is a small white spots on its back which is very distinctive. They eat small fish and crustaceans. This specie is the most common shark caught by Florida anglers.

Small Sharks Caught

Here in Florida, the shark population is totally diverse. Shark species range in sizes from few feet to more than 40 feet in total length according to a study. All sea-goers are being warned about this fact. Sea-goers should beware of sharks 6 feet or longer because the damage they can cause in a single bite is really dangerous.

Among the species that grow big and have been known to attack humans are bull sharks, tiger sharks and great white sharks. Unfortunately, that is the reason that I am chicken to go swimming on the beach. According to the experts, these type of sharks are not predominant so; beach-goers or sea-goers are unlikely to come across these sharks in Florida waters.

Anyway, I am not an expert with sharks so; I do not know what species these were. I forgot to ask the man in-charge. I heard him say that these sharks will never grow more than what they are. Meaning, these are not baby sharks and these are fully grown sharks in their species. Most of the passengers/guests were requesting them to fillet the sharks. Yes, these can be eaten.

Deep Sea Fishing at Cape Canaveral

26 minutes more or less from our place is Cape Canaveral. This place is also known as Cape Kennedy in the 60's and early 70's. It is part of the Space Coast, and the home of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station as well as the Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal.

Yesterday, while hubby and I went to Rusty's for a sumptuous lunch, the fishing fleets arrived to the boat dock from their whole day deep fishing activities. There were three boats and when they unload, we were curious. We finished up with our meal and went to the boat dock area.

I saw baby sharks displayed  below that sign. Those sharks and fishes were caught by the passengers/guests. According to one of the passengers, her son joined the contest by putting their biggest caught on the container, and adding some money (donation).  Whoever has the biggest caught, he/she wins the money. All those baby sharks look the same size to me. Awww... they were just babies.

Anyway, if you love to experience this type of activity, here is the link : orlandoprincess.com

Hubby and I are planning to try this activity. I think this is a fun adventure but, I only want to catch the fish that I can eat. Not the shark.

According to the passenger/guest, they were 3 and paid $60 per person. She said it was worth it because the services on board are the following:

- Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner (depending of selected trip)
- Unlimited Beer and Soda
- Rod & Reel
- Bait & Tackle
- Fishing License
- Parking

They were well fed she said. Interesting!

Unique Catholic Church Building

This is the most unique Catholic church building that I ever saw. When I was in High School, our Religious Education teacher made us draw churches of different religion. Most of the time, we can tell their religion by looking at the building right? But with this, I make it an exemption. I will never guess that this is a Catholic Church. Anyway, hubby and I attend the regular Sunday mass here in this church. We love it. The priests are great. The parishioners are friendly and everyone are happy church goers.

The building below is the dome. Pretty interesting building huh? They have bingo here every Tuesday. At the dome, they have a cafeteria and after each mass on a Sunday, people flocked here for fellowship. Having a great time meeting familiar faces and enjoying the fat free coffee and doughnut. Everyone is tickled with that statement. How could a doughnut becomes fat free? LOL.
Anyway, we have been members here since we live in the Space Coast. We like living here and we love this church.
